Now, you may be thinking: “How is this possible that through the power of God’s Holy Spirit, we, as Christians can ‘drive out evil spirits’ and ‘heal every disease and sickness’? If this is possible, why is it not happening in my church?”
I can, with all certainty, confirm that this is possible, as I have seen this happen with my own eyes.
First of all, let me remove this false idea that miraculous healing comes from the devil. Nowhere in the Bible is healing ever associated with the devil. In fact Jesus clearly proclaimed: Mark 3:23 “So Jesus called them and spoke to them in parables: "How can Satan drive out Satan?” NIV The devil does not heal. It is against his nature. He certainly will not start healing people in the name of Jesus, a name he abhors!
Jesus, Himself, was accused of using the devil’s power to perform miracles: Mark 3:22 “And the teachers of the law who came down from Jerusalem said, "He is possessed by Beelzebub! By the prince of demons he is driving out demons." NIV Of course, we know this is NOT true! But even today, the devil deceives Christians by causing them to associate healing done in the name of Jesus with the devil. How sad!
Let’s take a look at the text that speaks of miracles being performed by false Christs: Matt. 24:24 “For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect-if that were possible.”
Yes, there is mention of them performing great signs and miracles, but there is no mention of healing.
It is sad, but those who believe that modern-day healings are of demonic roots are the ones who are really being misled.
