Jesus promised us to send us His Holy Spirit. He calls the Holy Spirit, “the Counsellor”. In other words, God is having a relationship with us today through His Holy Spirit, who counsels us in our walk with God!
John 16:7 “But I tell you the truth: It is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Counsellor will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you.” NIV
God’s Spirit testifies about Jesus and gives us power to testify. Again, our witnessing is only made possible by having a relationship with God through His Holy Spirit!
John 15:26-27 "When the Counsellor comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father, he will testify about me. And you also must testify, for you have been with me from the beginning.” NIV
God’s Spirit guides us in all truth! We do not need to depend on scholars or a church to understand God’s Word. Jesus promised His Spirit to be our guide! Having a close relationship with God through His Holy Spirit is the key to find “all truth”!
John 16:13-15 “But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. He will bring glory to me by taking from what is mine and making it known to you. All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will take from what is mine and make it known to you.” NIV
